Virtual Stock Market @ Campus

Description

This project is based on an idea that has been promoted in the last few years in the world of Finance to interest investors in the stock market. But it has yet been unable to attract people who are not directly interested in Finance to the stock market.
We believe that through the right promotion and by awakening the curiosity of the students, we can broaden the appeal of such a game and show Finance and especially the stock market in a good light, despite the public criticism of the last months.

Details

The main part of the event is a virtual stock market game where participants will be allocated with a virtual sum of money and will be allowed to invest this money freely. This will be achieved by using the virtual stock market platform Bourse Virtuelle.

To help the participants gain knowledge about the stock market and investment strategies, we plan on organizing workshops before and during the game. These will include general information about the functionalities of the virtual stock market platform, information about the stock market in general (what are stocks? Bonds?) and more specific information about investment strategies and other things which might be useful to have success in the game.
The participants with the best returns will be awarded with attractive prizes

The game will take two month and is open to all students on the campus of Louvain-la-Neuve.
